Gig: C!ties & Ginola, 26-11-2010.

I would like to formally announce the arrival of, and first gig by, Quarter Inch Collective new boys, Ginola. Ginola are a punk rock three-piece from Dublin. Ben Donohoe on drums, Mark O’Connor on guitar and myself, Ian, on bass and vocal duties. Ginola draw on classic bands like Fugazi, The Jesus Lizard and Shellac, but don’t particularly sound like any of them. It’s all pretty loud and we’re fond a good joke. Here’s two songs to give you an idea of how it all sounds:

To introduce ourselves to the world we’ve organised a little gig in a super-secret location and invited our good friends C!ties along to play as well. It’s the last night of a tour that has seen C!ties play all over the country in support of their split 7″ with Guilty Optics (which you can listen to on the Out On A Limb soundcloud). So, after C!ties have torn Whelan’s to shreds, they’ll be whisked away to a secure location where they will continue to wreak havoc upon Dubliners’ ears. They might even bring some friends along…

It’ll be a fiver on the door (or free for anyone who buys a C!ties/Guilty Optics 7″ at their Whelans gig) and capacity is strictly limited to 50 people. It’s first come, first served and it should all be kicking off around 12 midnight. The location will be revealed on Friday night.

Until then,

  1. […] The gig on Friday is going to be really brilliant, especially as it now comes with added BATS. Check out Star Wormood.  I really like these bands and C!ties were fabulous when I saw them play in Easter but as they take their education more seriously than rockstarring, they don’t play live often…so now you gotta go and read this.
